ReviewerZero Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms govern your use of the ReviewerZero website at https://reviewerzero.ai and of the ReviewerZero service (together, the "Service"), provided by ReviewerZero AI, Inc ("ReviewerZero", "we" or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

If you or your organization has signed a separate written agreement with ReviewerZero for the Service, that agreement governs where it differs from these Terms.

2. Accounts

  • You must give accurate information when you create an account, and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Self-serve accounts are available to staff of eligible publishers who sign up with their work email address. We decide which email domains are eligible and may change this at any time.
  • You confirm that you are allowed to use the Service for your work, including any policy of your organization on third-party tools.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or puts the Service or other users at risk.

3. Your content

"Your content" means the manuscripts, files, reviews and other material you upload, and the reports the Service produces from them. You keep all rights to your content. You give us permission to store and process your content only to provide the Service to you, including through the service providers described in our Privacy Policy. You confirm that you have the right to upload the content you upload.

Your content is not used to train AI models, by us or by the service providers we use to process it. We do not offer zero data retention: your content is stored as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Results

The Service uses automated checks and AI models to flag possible issues in manuscripts and reviews. Results can be incomplete or wrong. They are meant to support your editorial judgment, not to replace it, and you are responsible for the decisions you make with them.

5. Credits and purchases

  • Analyses, reviewer searches and review assessments use credits. Each use takes the credits shown in the Service. An analysis that fails does not use a credit.
  • Free credits we grant expire 60 days after they are granted.
  • Credits you buy expire 12 months after the purchase. Unused credits are not carried over after they expire.
  • Prices are shown in US dollars before you buy. Prices do not include taxes unless stated, and you are responsible for any taxes that apply. Card payments are handled by our payment processor.
  • If you pay by invoice, the invoice is due within the period stated on it. Credits are added once the invoice is paid. An invoice that is not paid by its due date is canceled, and its credits are not added.
  • All purchases are final. Credits are not refundable, transferable or exchangeable for cash, except where the law requires otherwise.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service on behalf of authors, paper mills or anyone seeking to evade editorial or integrity checks;
  • use reviewer search results for anything other than inviting reviewers;
  • upload content you do not have the right to upload, or content that is unlawful;
  • share your account, resell the Service, or get around its limits, credits or security;
  • use the Service in any way that is damaging to it, impacts other users' access to it, or breaks applicable laws or regulations;
  • engage in any data mining, data harvesting, data extracting or any other similar activity in relation to the Service;
  • publish, sell, sublicense or otherwise commercialize any material from the website other than your own content.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

Other than your content, ReviewerZero AI, Inc and/or its licensors own all rights to the intellectual property and material in the Service.

8. No Warranties

The Service is provided "as is", with all faults, and ReviewerZero AI, Inc makes no express or implied representations or warranties of any kind related to the Service or the materials or results it provides.

9. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall ReviewerZero AI, Inc, nor any of its officers, directors and employees, be liable to you for anything arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service, whether such liability is under contract, tort or otherwise.

10. Indemnification

You hereby indemnify to the fullest extent ReviewerZero AI, Inc from and against any and all liabilities, costs, demands, causes of action, damages and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or in any way related to your breach of any of the provisions of these Terms.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under any applicable law, such unenforceability or invalidity shall not render these Terms unenforceable or invalid as a whole, and such provisions shall be deleted without affecting the remaining provisions herein.

12. Variation of Terms

ReviewerZero AI, Inc may revise these Terms at any time. We will update the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will let account holders know by email or in the Service. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Assignment

ReviewerZero AI, Inc shall be permitted to assign, transfer, and subcontract its rights and/or obligations under these Terms without any notification or consent required. However, you shall not be permitted to assign, transfer, or subcontract any of your rights and/or obligations under these Terms.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any separate written agreement described in section 1, constitute the entire agreement between ReviewerZero AI, Inc and you in relation to your use of the Service, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings with respect to the same.

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Colorado for the resolution of any disputes.
